Cycle Journeys COVID-19 Update

With the move to Alert Level 1 for most of New Zealand at 6:00am on Sunday 7th March 2021, we wanted to keep you updated on what this means for us here at Cycle Journeys.

Our additional hygiene and sanitisation practices and frequent cleaning of high touch spaces will continue.

We’ll also continue to display posters with the NZ COVID Tracer QR codes in all of our depots and onboard our vehicles – please scan the code each time you visit our depots or board any of our shuttle services.

Face coverings are highly advised and we encourage everyone to wear them to help provide an extra level of protection where there is little or no physical distancing between people, like in a shuttle bus or van with strangers, to help keep everyone safe.

And of course the usual health guidelines continue. If you’re sick, stay home. Report any flu-like symptoms. Wash and dry your hands, cough into your elbow, don’t touch your face. We’re all getting pretty good at this now!

During Alert Level 1 our shuttle services continue to operate, so that you can continue to enjoy our trails

Hand Sanitiser is available for everyone to use when boarding our vehicles.

Face Coverings: During Alert Level 1. All passengers are highly advised to wear a face covering while travelling on our shuttle vehicles. Please bring your own face covering and be prepared to have it on for the duration of your shuttle.

Contact Tracing: Covid Tracer QR codes will be available to scan when boarding our vehicles. These codes are unique to each vehicle in our fleet.

A paper register will also be available to help with contact tracing for anyone who doesn’t have the Covid Tracer app.

When New Zealand went into lockdown in March 2020, we had around 100 clients out cycling on our trails, as well as upwards of 400 clients with bookings set to go in the days and weeks through to the end of the season.

We offered all of our clients with bookings for the remainder of the season an opportunity to either postpone their trip to 2020/2021 season free of charge, or cancel their booking and receive a refund, less an admin fee.

52% of those with bookings in place for late in the 2019/2020 season chose to postpone to the 2020/2021 season. Many of them had rebooked within a month of New Zealand going into lockdown.

We did it then, and we will do it again.

To provide our customers with peace of mind, we have developed our ‘No Questions’ Covid-19 Guarantee. Should your trip be impacted by a government imposed Covid-19 related travel restriction, we will happily work with you to postpone your trip to future dates (free of charge) or provide you with a ‘No Questions’ refund (less an admin fee of $50.00 per person).
